Suspect hits woman with iron pipe, steals $1,800

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating after a suspect broke a woman’s arm and stole money from her.

The robbery happened near the Eagle Ridge Apartment complex just before 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The victim told police she was on Dixie Drive near Needmore Road with her son cashing her income tax check and noticed someone watching her. She said she walked through Eagle Ridge on her way to Northland Village when that person started following her. She told police that she and her son began to run but the suspect used an iron pipe to hit her as she climbed a fence that borders the Eagle Ridge property.

The victim said the suspect took $1,800 from her and then ran from the scene.

Medics transported her to Miami Valley Hospital with a broken right arm. Her arm was broken in two places.

According to police, the victim was uncooperative and officers were able to gather a limited amount of information ab.
