DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) –Two people were detained after police surrounded a Dayton home looking for suspects in a shooting.

Police closed off part of Wayne Avenue in the 3600 block before 10 a.m. Sunday after they believed suspects in a shooting were inside a home.

Officers said the incident started on Fountain Avenue when shots were fired sometime Sunday morning. No one was hit by gunfire but some property was damaged. According to officials, the suspects fled the scene in a getaway vehicle. Police put out descriptions for the suspects, which led them to a home on Wayne Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found the vehicle that was reportedly used as a getaway car in the shooting parked in the back of the address.

Officers set up a perimeter and surrounded the home to make contact with the suspects inside. They came out peacefully.

Police took three people into custody, but only two are considered suspects in the shooting. Police are questioning the other person.

The car was towed for evidence.

The investigation is ongoing.
