Big weather change coming

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A big change is in store for the Miami Valley as a cold front ushers in much colder air and even some snow showers.

Already you can see the change as the wind speeds increase, and that is causing problems.

Dayton Power & Light is reporting nearly 500 customers without power, mostly in the Research Park area of Beavercreek.

In Dayton, a large tree was toppled and is blocking Arcadia Boulevard near Smithville Road.

This morning’s warm temperatures will fall slowly this afternoon as rain spreads in, says 2 NEWS Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik.

Thunderstorm are possible today with the temperature falling into the 50s in the afternoon.

Monday night is when the real change starts to happen. Evening rain showers will change to snow showers after midnight with a minor accumulation possible on grassy surfaces.

Tuesday will start with a few snow showers possible in the morning and the day will be an unseasonably cool of 40.
