WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) – West Carrollton police are trying to figure out why an SUV barreled down an embankment Monday afternoon.
Rescue crews were called to the exit ramp off Interstate 75 south shortly after 6:00 p.m.
Officers believe a woman driving an SUV went off the exit to Central Avenue, through the intersection and onto another ramp where she then went down into the ravine.
“Obviously, this is not the easiest place to get in and out of, we’re probably looking at a 25-30 foot embankment, almost straight down, so we had to come in from both the Roberts side and the interstate, in order to make it over to the occupant of the vehicle to get her out,” said Sgt. David Wessling, West Carrollton Police Department.
They are investigating whether speed played a role in the crash.
The woman driving the SUV suffered minor injuries.
