Man booked on assault and multiple warrants

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton man was booked into jail after police say he assaulted a woman.

Leon Coleman Jr., 36, was arrested on assault charges and multiple warrants.

Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Bancroft Street around 5 p.m. Saturday.

The victim told police while she was hanging out, Coleman came into her cooler and started drinking her alcohol. An argument ensued, and the victim said Coleman punched her several times in the face.

Coleman fled toward the DeSoto Bass apartments.

Officers caught up with him and arrested him.

Police said Coleman had two warrants out of Dayton for traffic control and requiring an operator’s license.
