KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – Kettering residents fighting a plan for new sidewalks were again at the city council meeting Tuesday night.

They were upset because they have to foot the bill for the improvements along West David Road.

The city council did approve the project, but said the homeowners will only have to pay half the cost.

“The assessment per property ranges from $2,000 to $6,000 depending on how much front footage the property has,” said Mark Schwieterman, Kettering City Manager.

Schwieterman did not say when that project is likely to begin. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
