6-year old shot by pellet gun

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WDTN) – A Middletown man is facing charges after admitting he shot a 6-year-old boy with a pellet gun.

It happened in the 3900 block of Central Avenue.

The man told police he was trying to frighten his girlfriend’s son with the gun when it discharged and struck the boy in the abdomen.

Vince Dewitt was arrested for assault.

The boy is recovering at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
