JAMESTOWN, Ohio (WDTN) – The body of a missing boater found after several hours of searching Tuesday has been identified as 64-year-old James C. Redway Jr.

A Shawnee Lake resident called 911 around 11:30 a.m. after hearing someone shouting for help.

When officials arrived at the private Greene County lake, they said they found a truck, trailer, and boat drifting a few feet away, but no sign of the owner.

Sonar boats located Redway’s body around 4 p.m.

The sheriff told 2 NEWS Redway was not wearing a life jacket.

Redway, 64, was a resident at Shawnee Lake.

The coroner is scheduled to perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
