DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – He made it from Greenville, all the way to the NFL, becoming a three time Super Bowl champion.

Now, Matt Light is back home to help kids here in the Miami Valley.

He stopped by the 2 NEWS studio Wednesday to explain how you can help him raise money for his Light Foundation.

The third annual Gauntlet 5K Race Adventure is Saturday, June 7 at Chenoweth Trails in Greenville

Participants race through manmade, military inspired obstacles while running through mud.

There will also be plenty of activities for those who don’t want to get dirty.

Part of the proceeds benefit The Light Foundation, the organization Matt founded to help make teens responsible and accountable leaders.

“You want to be able to do something to help some of these kids. Some guys piggy back onto other non-profits and they lend time and support or they have an event. Our concept was always, if we can control it, let’s do it and if we can put the time into it, we can build something that is truly unique,” said Light.

The Light Foundation operates a 600 acre facility in Greenville. It hosts events throughout the year for teens.
