Star-Spangled Celebration to honor Hometown Heroes

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN)- A major announcement Thursday dedicates three summer events in honor of Miami Valley men and women who serve and protect.

The June 26 Jeff Foxworthy show at the Fraze, the Freedom’s Call celebration June 27 and the Vectren Dayton Air Show June 28 and 29 will all be part of the Star Spangled Celebration.

It’s all about paying tribute to Airmen from Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Springfield Air National Guard Base.

Over 27,000 jobs are located at both bases with an economic impact of $3.5 to $5 billion over the last decade.

Dayton Development Coalition President and CEO Jeff Hoagland says the United States Air Force is key to the on-going prosperity of the Dayton region.

“The sacrifices at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the men and women fighting for our country, What they do, we can’t take for granted and, as a region, I think they know that everyone supports them but this is just one small token of our appreciation,” says Hoagland.

This is the 11th year for Hometown Heroes.
