DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Mandalay Baseball has reached a preliminary agreement with buyers for Dayton Dragons, according to an article in Baseball America.

Baseball insiders estimate the Dragons sale price will be in the mid- to high $30 million range, with some saying at least $40 million.

Mandalay Baseball is selling the Dragons, along with two other minor league teams.

The Dragons own the record for most-consecutive sellouts for any U.S. sports team and has attracted  more than eight million fans since they opened in Dayton in 2000.

Local Dragon’s officials have told 2 NEWS in the past that the sale will not affect daily operations of or the team’s future in Dayton.
