DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Bomb Squad was called out to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office substation on Infirmary Road.

Officials said they were searching a car that was involved in a police pursuit earlier Saturday afternoon, when they discovered what appears to be a quarter stick of dynamite.

The pursuit began in the area of Gettysburg Avenue around 3:30 p.m.

Sheriffs deputies said the chase lasted about 15 minutes when the suspect was taken into custody on Euclid Avenue after crashing into a house.

Demeko Barber, 24, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail facing charges of felonious assault, failure to comply, and aggravated burglary.

Officers believe Barber may have been driving a stolen vehicle. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
