DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Officials were out in full force looking for missing 4-year-old Zaden McKnight.
Homicide detectives along with police and fire crews scoured the area along the Great Miami River in hopes of finding any evidence Saturday.
Officials launched a boat into the water and flew a helicopter overhead looking for any signs of the boy.
We’re told officials didn’t find anything. They called off the search around 1 Saturday afternoon.
Zaden and his mother, Nichelle McKnight were reported missing March 25.
Nichelle McKnight’s body was found on the banks of the Stillwater River April 11. She had been shot twice.
Police believe Antwan Anderson killed Nichelle. He killed himself April 7 after leading police on a short chase.
Officials still have yet to locate Zaden.
So, community members also pitched in to help look for him.
A group of about ten volunteers, walked in and around Triangle Park Saturday afternoon searching for Zaden.
They weren’t able to find anything either but plan to go back out again next week.
