DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — People gathered Saturday to remember a Dayton mother killed while the search for her missing son continues.

A vigil was held to remember Nichelle McKnight on Birchwood Avenue at noon.

Folks gathered to pay tribute to Nichelle while also praying for her 4-year-old missing son, Zaden.

Nichelle McKnight’s body was found on the banks of the Stillwater River April 11. She had been shot twice.

Both Nichelle and Zaden were reported missing March 25.
