DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police believe a car fire in Dayton may be the work of an arsonist.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Roesch Street after 2 a.m. Sunday.

When crews arrived, they found a black Chevy Avalanche swallowed by flames parked outside of an abandoned apartment complex.

The fire department responded and doused the fire.

Officials have not yet determined how the fire started but said the car did not appear to have been in an accident.

Officers are investigating the incident as arson.
