Boehner challenger drops out

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – One of John Boehner’s opponents in the 8th Congressional District has thrown in the towel.

Matthew Ashworth said he is withdrawing from the May 6 primary.

Ashworth said he does not want to split the vote and is now backing fellow Butler County businessman Eric Gurr.

J.D. Winteregg of Troy is also challenging Boehner in the May primary.
