HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A purse grabbing victim tried to catch her assailant Tuesday afternoon.

Montgomery County deputies say the victim’s purse was stolen at the Sunoco station in the 3900 block of Salem Avenue.

They say the victim then followed the suspect up the street to the rear of a UHaul store. That’s where she lost track of him.

Detectives had better luck. They arrested Daveon Miles a short time later and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on theft charges.

The initial report suggested that shots were fired at the UHaul, but deputies say there is no evidence of a shooting.
