CLAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Firefighters battled a blaze at a business in the 7600 block of North Main Street in Clayton late Wednesday afternoon.

North Main Street was closed down as crews battled to get the smoky fire under control at Dayton Artificial Limb.

Investigators say a passing medic first noticed the smoke.  The business was closed at the time.

Clinic owners are now contacting patients about what they should do now.

“The most significant thing is information and we have Medicare files and private insurance, patient files we’re responsible for,” said Tracy Slemker, owner.

Damage is estimated at $500,000.
