FAIRBORN, Ohio  (WDTN) – Fairborn is showing appreciation to some of its business community. Thursday, a church and hardware store were offered gratitude.

Firefighters at station 2 said thank you to the pastor at Byron Church and a store manager at Ace Hardware.  The church congregation donated money and Ace helped get the price of 112 smoke detectors and 50 carbon monoxide detectors discounted.

Each year, the Fairborn Fire Department uses grants and budget money to buy the detectors to give to residents.  This year, the Byron Church congregation gave money to add to that.

Fairborn residents who need the detectors can now go to any fire station, show proof of residency and get the detectors, free, while supplies last.
