Investigators said Alexander and Taylor got into a fight after a dice game.

2 NEWS found Taylor was also investigated in connection with a 2013 homicide. Montgomery County Jail records show he was arrested in December as part of the investigation into the shooting death of a 42 year-old Michigan man inside an apartment on Leo Street.

Officers later dropped the murder charge against Taylor, but he is still awaiting court action on drug and disorderly conduct charges stemming from the shooting.

Another man, 19 year-old, Anthony Brown, who police say acted as Taylor’s accomplice, was found guilty of the murder and is set to be sentenced Friday, May 2.

Dayton Detectives said they also plan to present formal charges to prosecutors against Taylor that day in connection with the most recent Bragg Place shooting. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
