KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – A local health conglomerate will soon expand its services. Kettering Health Network is collaborating with other healthcare systems in Ohio.
KHN joined Health Innovations of Ohio, or HIO.
That group houses healthcare systems in Columbus, Cincinnati, Akron and Cleveland.
They say the move will improve the level of patient care for patients who use KHN’s eight hospitals.
“We will partner to contract across the state. Those who are employed by small or big businesses to a point of service,” said Fred Manchur, CEO Kettering Health Network.
Marsha: “So, does that mean there will be no out of network?
Fred Manchur: “That’s what we envision for the future.”
Manchur says patients who drive long distances and need services can now connect with a city that is within the other networks in the HIO.
That is one way, he says, medical costs will be contained.
