Stolen truck set on fire

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after someone stole a truck and set it on fire.

Officers were called to the 1900 block of Leo Street just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

When crews arrived, they found a truck on fire in the parking lot across from Holy Cross Church.

The fire department responded to the scene and was able to quickly douse the flames. No one was hurt.

Officers ran the license plate and found the truck was stolen from the Dayton branch of Norfolk Southern Railway Company in the 1300 block of East Monument Avenue.

According to police, the suspect broke into the Dayton office of the company, pried open the key box, took the key and stole the truck. The suspect left the scene, went to the parking lot on Leo Street, lit the truck on fire, and fled.

Officials are still investigating.
