Two arrested for stolen copper pipes

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two men were arrested after Dayton Police said they stole copper pipes from a home for scrap.

Matthew Emrick, 34, and Joshua Snowden, 32, face charges of breaking and entering.

Police responded to the 1300 block of East Third Street around 10 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, the two suspects brought various copper pipes to that location that officers believed they stole from a vacant home on South June Street.

Witnesses reported seeing the two suspects there earlier Saturday.

Officers also found Snowden was carrying a backpack full of screwdrivers and pliers. Snowden additionally faces charges of possession of criminal tools. Police stated Snowden has felony warrants for probation violations.
