Gas leak stinks for Huber Heights voters

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – Election Day at the polls went on with few glitches, but a gas leak did chase voters away from a Huber Heights polling place.

Montgomery County Board of Elections Director Jan Kelly confirms that everyone was evacuated from the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in the 5400 block of Old Troy Pike late Tuesday afternoon.

Poll workers set up in the parking lot to allow voters to cast their ballot.

Kelly says a couple of workers were even sent to a nearby restaurant to help voters.

She says it affected a “handful of voters”.

The gas leak was under control in a couple of hours.
