HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – Multiple explosions were reported at the scene of a fire in Harrison Township Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the area of Koehler and Kenneth avenues around 3:15 p.m.

They arrived to find a shed and nearby fence on fire.

Investigators say propane cylinders inside the burning shed exploded.  A firefighter was knocked down.  He was taken to the hospital to checked out.

One resident was taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation.

Crews initially thought children were trapped in the fire, but that was not the case.  They were playing in a nearby yard and were escorted away from the scene.

No word yet on what started the fire.
