Melissa Myers, 35, and her 2-year-old son Nolan G. Myers were located at a Best Western motel at SR 63 and I-75.

Police told 2 NEWS someone driving in the parking lot recognized Myers’ the car from seeing the story on the news.

After police arrived at the motel and made contact, they said Melissa Myers was cooperative and the child was unharmed. She was removed from the room by medics while police awaited the arrival of the child’s grandparents and case workers from Montgomery County Children Services.

A spokesperson from the Centerville Police Department said the outcome was “the best case scenario.”

The statewide Amber Alert was issued just before midnight Wednesday.

Myers, a Centerville woman, had threatened to hurt herself, so officers feared for the child’s well being.

Based on a ping from Myers’ cell phone and an eyewitness account, police determined Myers was on southbound on I-75 in Warren County around 8:45 Wednesday night, not far from the location where she was found.
