Child on bicycle rides into the side of a car

RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) – A child was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after riding his bicycle into the side of a moving car.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Mertland Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

Police say a 13-year-old boy was riding his bike along Forest when he didn’t stop at a stop sign.  He hit the passenger side of a car driving on Mertland Avenue.

Police say the boy was not wearing a helmet or any reflective clothing.

He was taken to Dayton Children’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car will not be cited.  No one else was hurt.
