Railroad crossings in Eaton are all clear

EATON, Ohio (WDTN) – A traffic alert for people who travel through Eaton.

Police say the train that was blocking several railroad crossings through town is now repaired and headed down the track.

About a dozen crossings were blocked for several hours. There are 16 crossings through the city.

Crossings at Richmond Pike and Franklin Street were the only two open at the time the train was stopped.

Police say they think mechanical failure caused the train to uncouple. There was no threat to residents other than figuring out how to get from one side of town to the other.

The train pulled out of town around 7:30 p.m.
