Co-workers praise pilot Wingate

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Kent Wingate is an instructor with the Unmanned Aerial Systems Department of Aviation Technology at Sinclair Community College in Dayton.

According to Adam Murka, director of public information at Sinclair, says Wingate is a tough, determined guy.  His life has brought him from Jackson, Mississippi to Dayton and Sinclair.

The Sinclair family is determined and confident his tough attitude will bring him back.

Right now, Wingate remains in critical condition at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. His injuries include multiple broken bones, a collapsed lung and traumatic brain injury, the extent of which is not yet known.

Murka also said Wingate demanded the best from his students and gave them his best at all times.

The pilot’s wife, Dr. Katherine Wingate is in Memphis.  She says her husband is stable but critical, not out of the woods yet, but the family is hopeful.
