DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The FBI believes a wanted man from Maryland may be somewhere in Ohio.

The Baltimore division of the FBI issued an alert Friday for Reuben Bennett Blackwell, 57.

He is wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. The FBI says he is accused of kidnapping his then 3-year-old son, Reuben II, who may go by the name Bennett. He is now 21-years old.

Blackwell is described as 6’4″, 270 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair with gray at the temples.

The alleged abduction occurred in May 1996 when the child disappeared from his mother’s custody.

The FBI is asking for the public’s assistance with any information you might have about the father and his son.

They believe the elder Blackwell is armed and dangerous and may have suicidal tendencies.

Call the FBI 513-421-4310 or call your local police department.
