RIPLEY, Ohio (WDTN) – The search for two missing Troy, Ohio men last seen canoeing on the Ohio River is getting some needed help when 15 to 20 reservists from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base join the effort.

Marty Stanaford, 19, and Cameron Buerger, 20, disappeared last weekend canoeing along the Ohio River in Ripley, Ohio.  Only their cooler has been found so far near the Meldahl Dam.

Their families have set up fund at Wright-Patt Credit Union will help pay the $400 per hour for a helicopter to search.

Donations can be made to the Marty and Cameron Search and Rescue Fund.

A friend says she didn’t go on the canoe with them, but she watched them leave and even talked to them by cell phone while they were out on the water.

Both of the men can swim, but they did not have life jackets.
