DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is behind bars after officers said he damaged a Dayton Police cruiser.

Brandon Turner, 32, faces charges of vandalism and was arrested on two felony warrants.

Police responded to the 1700 block of Kings Mill Court after 8 a.m. Friday after Turner’s girlfriend told police he smashed her cell phone and had a couple felony warrants.

When police arrived, they found Turner hiding in an upstairs closet. He was taken into custody for the warrants and put in the backseat of a cruiser.

According to police, Turner rammed his head repeatedly against the window of the cruiser while they were filling out a booking slip. Officers ordered him to stop, but he ignored their orders. Turner knocked out the window and had to be pepper sprayed.

Turner was placed in a different cruiser before being booked into jail.

The cruiser was taken to the garage where the window will have to be fixed or replaced.
