Teen robbed near Family Dollar

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a 17-year-old was robbed by a group of males.

Police were called to the Family Dollar at 2198 North Gettysburg Avenue just after midnight Saturday, where they met with the victim in the parking lot.

The victim told police he had left a track meet at Thurgood Marshall High School and was walking through the parking lot south of the Family Dollar when four men approached him. He said when he saw one of the suspects had a gun, he ran.

He stated the suspects shot at him several times and ran after him. He told police the suspects caught up with him, hit him, and attacked him with a metal baseball bat. He said one of the suspects went through his pockets and stole money.

The four suspects then ran from the scene.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
