Officers get wheels rolling to honor the fallen

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Officers from different law enforcement agencies gathered Saturday for the 6th Annual Miami Valley Police Memorial Week Bike Tour at Riverscape.

The event was held to honor and bring awareness to fallen officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their community and in support of their surviving family members and friends.

Riders rolled out from Riverscape and proceeded on the bike trail to Rice Field in Miamisburg.

The 28-mile round trip ride was held in conjunction with the National Police Memorial Week.

A short ceremony was held following the ride.

Proceeds from the ride will go to the Montgomery County Association of Police Chiefs, Inc. Scholarship Fund.
