Police: Man drove drunk, crashed car

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is behind bars after police say he drove drunk, crashed his car, and had a loaded gun inside the vehicle.

Victor Alexander, 60, was arrested on charges of improperly handling a firearm and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

According to police, Alexander was driving his Chevrolet Trailblazer in the area of North James H McGee Boulevard and Rosedale Drive around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when he crashed with another vehicle.

When officers were investigating they found that Alexander was highly intoxicated. Police also found a loaded gun in the glove box of the vehicle.

Alexander refused a breathalyzer test.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
