DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are looking for a man covered in tattoos who they say assaulted another man at a Dayton bar.

Officers arrived to Shag’s Tavern located at 1926 South Smithville Road around 2:30 a.m. Sunday and found the victim on the ground outside unconscious and bleeding heavily from his head.

Witnesses told police they were standing outside after last call when the suspect punched the victim several times in the face before running into the parking lot into the neighborhood behind the tavern.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.

An employee at the tavern told police he remembered talking with the suspect earlier in the night about his tattoos. He said the man worked as a private tattoo artist and the man gave him his business card. He said the man told him he was just released from prison and was on parole.

Police verified the information and found the suspect was released from prison in April.

According to officials, the suspect is described as a white male with tattoos on his face, neck and arms.

Officers believe they know who the suspect is. He faces charges of aggravated felonious assault.
