DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is building a multi-category distribution center in the city of Union to serve its Midwest customers, JobsOhio President and Chief Investment Officer John Minor announced today.

According to company officials, the new P&G facility will be operational in 2015 and is expected to bring as many as 800 jobs.

“This new distribution center is part of a significant supply chain transformation in North America that will dramatically innovate the way we supply our customers,” said Yannis Skoufalos, P&G’s Global Product Supply Officer. “The Dayton site is ideally situated to both leverage P&G’s scale and our new distribution network to respond to customers and our consumers in a way we have never done before.”

JobsOhio, the Dayton Development Coalition, Montgomery County, and the City of Union worked together to ensure that the company had the required infrastructure in place to support the $89 million, 1 million-square-foot facility.
