DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — More than 4,500 pounds of pull tabs were collected Saturday at the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton’s 8th Annual Tab-a-pull-ooza event.

The Pull Tab Contest was held at the 2nd Street Market, located at 600 East 2nd Street. Groups and individuals donated the tabs to showcase what can be accomplished when a community “pulls” together.

Donated pull tabs were weighed and then poured into a large dumpster. At the end of the event, the 4,500 pounds of tabs were taken to First Street Recycling where they were recycled for their salvage value.

The funds raised from the pull tab donations will go towards the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton to provide a home-away-from-home to families of critically ill, injured, or hospitalized babies and children.
