DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Fire officials are investigating what caused a fire to break out at a vacant home.

Crews arrived to the 2300 block of Newport Avenue around 2 a.m. and found the house engulfed.

Firefighters said their biggest concern was to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.

They were able to quickly douse the flames and no one was hurt.

The house was torched by the flames and is considered a loss.

The Dayton Fire Department is treating the cause of the fire as suspicious.
