Miamisburg police officer shoots at charging dog

MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – A Miamisburg police officer fired a shot at a charging dog early Monday morning.

Police tell us officers responded to a call in the 900 block of Seibert Ave. just before one a.m. As they were conducting a track with a K-9 unit, they say someone let a dog outside from a nearby house.

Officers say that dog charged at them aggressively, prompting one of the officers to shoot at it. The dog ran back in the house.

The dog’s owner told 2 NEWS the dog was grazed by a bullet.

Police said the dog’s owner will be cited for dog at large.
