ENON, Ohio (WDTN) – A mother duck made a few house calls Monday looking for someone to help save her ducklings.

Her babies fell down a sewer drain.

The fire department was called to help.

They saved four ducklings.

“At least they rescued them, that was nice. The mother hen was just so upset. She just went from one house to the next looking for help,” said Maxine Russell, neighbor.

The ducklings were safely returned to a nearby pond to reunite with their mother. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
