Teen arrested with guns, boxes of bullets at school

CLARK CO., Ohio (WDTN) – The Clark County Sheriff says a teenager is in custody for a having a gun and two boxes of bullets at school.

A tip led deputies to Kenton Ridge High School where the 16-year old was arrested.

Sheriff Gene Kelly says the weapon is a .38 caliber pistol.  It had 50 rounds of ammunition with it.  The unloaded gun was found in the teen’s car.

The sheriff doesn’t know yet where the teen got the gun, but they intend to investigate the teen’s social media accounts to look for clues.  You must be 21 to purchase a gun in Ohio.

A friend of the suspect went to school administrators to tell them about the weapon.  The school also sent an email to parents to tell them about what happened.

The teen is in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center charged with having a weapon on school property.
