JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Police are looking for the person who was driving a car that erupted in flames early Tuesday morning.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies and Jefferson Township firefighters were called to the area of Lutheran Church Road and Dayton Farmersville Road just before 2 a.m. for the report of a car on fire. Crews say the car was fully engulfed when they arrived.

Firefighters quickly realized the driver was not in the car. They are looking into the possibility that the driver crashed and ran away.

A sergeant with the Sheriff’s Office told 2 NEWS the car is registered to an address in Canal Winchester, Ohio. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
