HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – A 10-year-old special needs child was found running across lanes of traffic along Interstate 70 in Huber Heights Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers responded around 4:00 p.m. to I-70 just east of Old Troy Pike.

They found the child on the side of the highway with a passerby who stopped to help.

Troopers say the child has special needs and was having trouble telling them where he lived.

The child’s parent called police within a few minutes of the original call to report her son was missing.

The child was returned home safely.

The case was referred to Children Services for further investigation.
