FAIRBORN, Ohio (WDTN) – A dramatic water rescue played out in Fairborn Wednesday night.

Crews were called to the 1000 block of Dayton Yellow Springs Road about a car swept away in the fast moving water.

Boats were called into to assist and you can see from the ReportIt photo that the fire department tied the car to the ladder to keep it from going downstream.

Firefighters say a woman was exiting the parking lot of a restaurant when she couldn’t see the road and drove into a drainage ditch.  The current then pulled her into the creek.  The car became wedged into a tree.

Rescue crews were able to get a life jacket and tag line to her to save her.

She was not hurt.
