TIPP CITY, Ohio (WDTN) — A group of people helped push a car to safety Wednesday in downtown Tipp City after it got caught in the rising water.
The two people inside, a woman and her daughter, managed to get out in time but the car was stuck.
We talked to the driver’s husband who showed up to try to get the car out of the road that was quickly becoming more like a river.
Plenty of others didn’t mind getting soaked along with him to keep the car from being swept away.
Afterward we found out this isn’t just any car.
“It was her birthday last Thursday and I surprised her with the car,” John Williams says of his wife. “But it’s just stuff.”
We’re told the car had water in the floor boards, but Williams says they do have insurance.
