Residents rescued from flooded apartment complex

Firefighters rescue stranded residents

BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – Firefighters and Clark County deputies rescue residents from a flooded apartment complex.

Authorities said they arrived at the Laynecrest Manor Apartments on Gerlaugh Drive around 2:30 a.m..

They said a resident called saying they couldn’t open the door to their unit.

Crews said the water is more than three feet high and they started rescuing residents.

More than 40 residents were evacuated, and aren’t to return until further notice.

Bethel Township Fire Chief Jacob King said crews are putting residents up in shelters while others are staying with relatives.
