DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Memorial Day weekend means a boost in traffic on the roads.
Officials with the Ohio Department Of Transportation said there were more than 400 crashes in construction zones last year in the state.
I-75 from Third Street to Main Street is under construction due to the modernization of the interstate. Two lanes of traffic northbound, and three lanes southbound will be open to travelers.
ODOT is also alerting Memorial Day travelers about another major interstate that you could see problems.
Interstate 70 between Enon Road and U.S. 68 is under construction due to a lane addition project.
Expect to see orange barrels with two lanes of traffic open both eastbound and westbound, officials said.
It’ is also encouraged you be mindful of your driving behaviors as well as others.
A new survey released found that 85 percent of drivers believe people drive aggressively, but only 36 percent think their own driving is aggressive.
As you head out this weekend, it’s encouraging drivers not to cut others off, tailgate, or use high beams towards oncoming traffic.
Officials with AAA say about 80 percent of those traveling this weekend will travel by car.
