Axe and box cutter used to threaten victim

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man was arrested after police said he threatened people with an axe.

Lindsey Jones Jr., 62, was arrested on charges of aggravated menacing.

Officers were dispatched to West Third Street and Marion Street Saturday just after 5 p.m. on a threats complaint.

The victim said he was in the field with his friends when Jones came up to them highly intoxicated, pulled an axe out of his backpack, and started swinging it and chopping chairs in the field.

The victim told police Jones then pulled out a red box cutter from his book bag and threatened to “slice him up” and murder him.

Police caught up with Jones near Third Street and Orchard Avenue and took him into custody.
