Mustang plows into pole, passenger dead, driver critical

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Reconstruction crews are working to determine what caused a deadly crash in Dayton.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in front of UD Arena.

According to officials, a black mustang lost control and struck a pole.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he is in critical condition.

Police said both victims are males between 20-30 years old.

Authorities stated that speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. They’re still waiting on toxicology results to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
